THE STORY
Rallypoint Motor Condos was born out of Carol and J.R. Ernst’s passion for cars and their search for the ultimate motor condo.
After their children left for college, they planned to up their travel game and started browsing the market for a motor home. It was all fun and games until they realized they didn’t have a proper place to store it in! The idea of placing such a large investment in an outside storage lot with poor access and lackluster facilities didn’t appeal to them. And just like that, an idea was born.
They wanted a place that could not only store their motor home, but also various other “toys” as well as freeing up garage space and unchaining them from neighborhood and garage capacity restrictions The additional benefits of owning a motor condo and building equity only fueled the fire. They rolled up their sleeves, did their research, and fine-tuned the Rallypoint concept until it became the one-of-a-kind experience it is today. The Hub clubhouse adds a charming social element to the mix and allows like-minded individuals to connect, relax, and have fun together.
Carol and J.R. are proud to say they bought the first unit. Care to join them?
THE PEOPLE
Rallypoint is centered around the same values that guide Carol and J.R. when running their family hotel business. They revolve around a core belief in hard work, honest business practices and treating everyone with hospitality and respect.
J.R. ERNST
J.R. Ernst grew up in Hendersonville, TN and always found himself around cars, but not the kind you can drive. His dad was well known for his car collection, and as a kid, J.R. dreamed of being a racecar driver. His dream of racing did come true, but not the way he thought. After graduating from college at Auburn University, J.R. could be found racing around the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the Legend Car Series. However, once his first child was on the way, he hung up the firesuit and got serious about being an adult. After a few years in sales on his own, J.R. came back to his family’s hospitality business, which he continues to run to this day.
Favorite Toy: 2017 Shelby GT350 Ford Mustang with its factory equipped, hand-built VooDoo 5.2L V8.
CAROL ERNST
Carol Ernst grew up in Gadsden, Alabama with a passion for cars. Her dad drag raced before she was born, so she blames genetics for her lead foot. He also taught her to change her car’s oil and tires, and required her to read her first car’s owner’s manual before being allowed to drive it. Most recently, she developed an interest for early edition Broncos. Carol had learned to drive in her dad’s 1976 Ford Bronco “three on the tree”. She has many fond memories of her family “going jeeping” and locking in the hubs. Since her father’s passing, she made it her mission to find that Bronco. You know what they say, “one man’s trash is a determined woman’s treasure”.
Favorite Toy: Her dad’s 1976 Bronco (as soon as she finds it).
